I have owned the microwave in my kitchen since my first year of college, 12 years ago. Not once in those 12 years has the clock on that microwave been set to the actual, accurate time of day in any place where I’ve lived.

The other day when my friend was over she marched into the kitchen and within seconds broke that streak and set the time to what it actually is. So I’ve been wondering:

I've got a kind of sticky situation here, and it's a lot of text, so please just stick with me.

I have a machop. As you'll know, they are VERY strong. Yesterday, I was walking around with my machop. We were going to find a nice empty feild where we could practice his moves together, which he'd really enjoy.

Well, on the way there, this kid (I'd say he was around 11 or 12) started throwing sticks at my machop and laughing. I told him to stop, and threatened to find his parents, but he just swore at me and continued doing this to him. He thought it was funny.

For reference, my little buddy is blind and his eyes look a bit different. I think that's why the kid was doing this.

Well, my machop thought the kid was playing. So he started "playing" as well.

The kid ended up in hospital.

His parents are threatening to press charges, but I had told the kid to stop. Do you have any advice?

Unfortunately, even though I kinda know where you comin' from, the parents have legal grounds to press charges. If you're a certified trainer, and most importantly an adult, it's your responsibility to keep your 'mon from hurtin' other people. The kid was bein' an asshole, but he is also a kid, who did not deserve to be on the other end of a 'mon that can bench press most adults.

In those kinds of situations, you cannot allow your 'mon to do whatever it wants because they don't understand societal expectations or laws, your Machop just... Machop'd. It falls on you as a trainer to de-escalate that situation, and the move here should've been to leave the place and/or call the authorities if someone was physically assaulting your buddy.

Honestly, my advice here would be to get a good lawyer and recall-train your Machop if he's not trained, just in case they tried to use that against ya.
